My guess is that it just saves the weight of the case.

ok. Makes sense. But it's got to be a small marginal weight savings, no? I mean the case isn't that big or substantial.

let's see your beaters

here's my year and a half old 40 Juka. I still love it and it sees the most flying time of all my models. I have a backup waiting in the box but it's in storage status until i cannot rebuild this one any more.

I would think on a 40" that it wouldn't be a big deal. On a 22", though...

I just picked up a NIB 40" Juka and am putting it together. I need to order some batteries, kit calls for 1000mah but some one recommended 1300mah. Has anyone tried both? Just wondering if the 1300's are heavy enough to mess the plains flying up at all.

i use 1300 and 1000s in my 40 juka. They both work fine. 1300s don't mess with performance at all. They are better on the windy days too.

Personally, I prefer as light a battery as I can get away with. If it calls for 1000, I'd even try an 800-850.

My buddy Toms 40" Yak flies super with 1600 and 1800's, although a little slower. He tried one of my 1300's today and we could see the difference! He's still new with the 3D Foamie's but flies like he stole it!
Our friend Jim brought his new Tech One SU31 Foamie's and that thing is amazing and cheap too. Fun morning with the boys

I have been flying my 40" Extra with 900 and 1100 lipo Nano paks. get 5 minutes on the 900 and it climbs like a rocket and 6 minutes on the 1100's (can hardly tell the differance. Could fly longer on each, but I don't want to stress my batteries out.

Unfortunately about 3 weeks ago, my grandkids (bless thier evil little souls) got ahold of my Spectrum DX6I transmitter and broke the toggles off of it. I mailed it back to Horizon and they not only fixed it at no charge, they also upgraded the gimballs. Got it back yesterday. Can't beat thier service! Ditto for DW in replacing my fuse last year in about 3 days after i trashed my original.

Now. I can get back to flying! That is once the Washington Puget Sound weather lets me!

When my packs were new the 1000s made the 40dw take off like a bottle rocket out of hover on the standard dynamo. I did prop up to an 11x4.7 slow fly for my elevation.

I finished my juka jr last night and maddened it this morning.

That plane has incredible power! It's my second favorite plane next to my micro Threlon!

Is there any alternative prop than the 8x6 slowfly for the 28in models. One with a little less power?
