I'm using a 3300 4S 40C. There is room to move the battery forward (or in my case) back to the CG where you want it.

did you have to do some cutting to make it fit or is the battery space large enough already?

Very very slight trim of the foam in the battery bay. Just the rib parts that stick out 2/3 rds of the way forward otherwise plenty of height and withe. It sits low enough that the canopy/Batt hatch needs no work.
I still only get a little over 4 Min.s to land at 50% though.

im more worried about the amp draw that i am gonna have...the battery i bought to run my static tests i think is gonna be too small so hopefully i can sell it on here for close to what i got it for, i mean i have only run the motor up twice on it.

Looks doable, are you thinking 4s or 5s? I would probably go for a higher amp esc though, here's a link to just about every combo that's been tried;

What's the rated power of the motor? Is the motor the HK2839 EDF Outrunner 2800kv for 70mm? That particular one is rated at 550W, 36A. Might get hot from the current draw required for a 10-bladed fan.

I installed a Cyclone Power 3700kV motor, rated at 1000+ watts, and the armature extends beyond the inner housing so it gets cooled in the airflow.

You don't want to run a motor above its power rating - it might cause the windings to heat up and fail, and/or demagnetize the magnets.

Turnigy L2855-2800 EDF Outrunner (630w)

Spec.
Kv: 2800 rpm/v
Voltage: 14.8(4s)
No load Current: 2.8A
Max Current: 43A
Max Power: 630W
Shaft Size : 4mm
Shaft Length: 16mm
Dimension: 34mm x 28mm
Thrust: 1200g
Weight: 97g

Here's a datapoint from another thread:

" Change Sun 70mm 10 Blade EDF with an installed Eflite BL15 3200kv motor ... It pulled a 50.1a draw at 782 watts without the intake ring for a 2sec burst full throttle on a nanotech 4s 3300mah 30-70c pack. I tested it on my eflite meter."

And another guy was selling a similar setup as yours, probably measured with a 5S: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...30&postcount=5

"1000 watts+ depending on lipo... "

4S will get your less amps and power, but the trade-off is less thrust. 2800kV motors are usually run off 5S.

I believe a 2800kv is a good 5s motor for most any fan other than the CS! From what I understand the blade count of the CS (10) requires stronger/lower kv motors to be efficient. I have test flown mine (Het 2W-25 2720kv) on 4s and it's a "pleasure".
