Looking for a 2nd Plane.

Well, 3rd if you count a firebird stratos

Guys,

What I'm looking for is something mid or low wing, trike gear, .60 size and preferably a kit (or plan), but if push comes to shove I'll go ARF.

I'd like flaps, but if a kit or plan I'm ok with a bit of modification.

Last time I did this I went from a trainer to an easy sport .40, and a larger version of that would be perfect!

Thanks

Shane

How about a Goldberg Tiger 60 kit. Great flying plane.

you can get plans and wing ribs from great planes to build an easy sport .60 if you wish. I personally would go with the Goldberg tiger .60. Best flying plane I've had. lost it and built a tiger 2 to replace it. Phil

Thanks Fella's,

I've been looking at the Tiger, I'll have to look to see if I can get one in Australia, athough the easy sport 60 is very tempting

For a third plane trike gear a tiger is great. Tail dragger a 4 star 60.
Wait on flaps not needed on either airplane. Flaps can be an issue all on their own

Jetmech, it's not my first rodeo, I'm coming back to the hobby after a long layoff (should have mentioned that in my first post, sorry) and I like flaps I have a 60 size trainer with them, and I bought it precisely for that option. A little bit of crow mixing can get me down a lot better than just floating - an issue I've always had.

Mr Shea, I've just checked the discontinued area of the Great Planes website, and I think I'll be contacting them about the easy sport 60 and f-15 plans. I had the f-15 many years ago and it was a fantastic little plane.

Yep. I was going to mention a Ultra Stick or a Sig Fazer. If ya want some aerobatic flight. Ultra stick is a ARF but the Sig Fazer is a Kit. Or somethin' Extra

In the funfly/3D section we have plans for a twist. The twist is the very best 2nd plane you can get. It can easly handle 20 mph plus winds.

Stik or Four Star

I don't know of faster building kits than the GP Big Stik and Sig Four Star. If you're comfortable putting landing gear rails and the necessary reinforcement on the ribs on a Four Star(for trike gear), a simple process really, it would be a great choice. I've built all three sizes and my 1.20 handles better than a lot of shoulder wings.
