excess vibration in 9116.
So basically, I have crashed the thing multiplet times. All is well, but now the heli has a lot of excess vibration. I can't figure it where is coming from because everything seems ok. Does anybody have any thoughts? common problems?

I would check for a bent main shaft (you have to remove it to check),
Imbalanced main blades (weigh them), worn or sloppy linkage (it's
already sloppy enough brand new), and like Hajile said, tight blades (it will not
allow them to fully center and balance out).
Try removing the blades and spinning up slowly, you should be
able to see a bent main shaft. At high speed it should be smooth as
silk (without the blades to amplify the problem).
I've bent my main shaft many times, and was always able to bend it
straight again. I'm still using the stock one after probably 100 flights,
and 2 bad crashes.
Sometimes just swapping main blades (same blades installed to opposite
sides) reduces vibration by quite a bit.
Let us know what you find out.

steve right on, It was totally bent. I was able to get it pretty good with the old hammer... But I still have loads of other problems including that the heli always leans to the left. The steering rods are always imbalanced when I start up the heli and I have no clue how to adjust that. Also now, the tail blade doesn't work well when on low speeds and sometimes causes the heli to spin to the left. I have no clue how to fix these issues and am very frustrated.

The "steering rods" (or ball links in heli lingo) are simply popped
off of the swashplate, and spun to adjust length.
Then pop them back on
As far as the tail acting up, mine did that after gyro / PCB damage.
It could be a bad tail motor as well, but sounds more like a gyro,
especially after a hard crash. It does not take much to knock them
out of whack.
Tail with motor is $5 shipped, and the PCB (includes gyro) is $16.
I would get both. Even if it's not the tail, they fail fairly often, so it's
good to have a spare laying around.
PCB replacement requires a little soldering.
If you don't know how to solder, have a friend who is into
electronics help you out.

When you say spin to the left, do you mean looking down on it,
it spins counter-clockwise? That may be a bad tail motor.
If it surges clockwise, it's probably a bad gyro.
I remember after one bad crash, it bent the plastic mount
in the tail, and caused the gear mesh to become too tight.
This caused the heli to spin counter-clockwise.
I heated it up a little with a lighter, and bent it back into shape,
and it lasted another 20 flights.

Ouch thats bad to hear, I believe it spins counter clockwise, but I will have to check... Btw where is the gyro even located?

Gyro is the tiny board soldered at a 90 degree angle to the main
PCB. The bigger board that is parallel to the PCB is the radio.
All it takes is a nick from the flybar to kill any of it.

My DH 9116 is beginning to fall apart, It smelled like something was burning in the back, and now whenever I turn it on, it spins violently fast in the back causing it to spin in very fast clockwise circles. It seems as though it blew out its back motor, but suspiciously the back stick spins (just very fast even on low speed.)!!!! This is disastrous and I am beginning to loose hope.

It's a bad PCB.
$16.00 and you are back in the air.
It is possible that the tail motor is shorted, and thats why the
PCB blew, but more than likely it's crash damage.
Check for shorted wires that may have been pinched in
the wreck as well.
I would just play it safe and get a new tail as well.
Most of my 9116 parts have been replaced 2 and sometimes
3 times over. It still flies perfect. Just came in from some ground
skimming at about 25 Mph
I'm thinking about getting a V911. They are built better, the parts
are cheap, and you can get aluminum CNC head parts for it.
You can run the bind-and-fly V911 with our radio (I love my 9116 radio)
and it is under $30. It uses smaller batteries and a special charger though,
and it doesn't come with the BNF.
The RTF with radio, 2 batteries and charger is not much more.
Would probably be a good idea, just in case the 9116 TX won't bind.

So, my plan is to get a new tail (its quite bent all over, so I just want to get a "restart" with it.
ALOT OF EXTRA BLADES (6 hour supply at my pace)
A new shaft, Mine is still a bit bent.
and a new board, suggested by many of you
The one part I am thinking about is the steering rods, which still are not really in alinement with each other, I am trying to get them to work, but usually the heli just banks left. Ia m not sure about that

I have yet to break a main blade, but have broken 2 tail blades.
Buy all of the above, and it will fly like new
Check out Stormforce's monster 9116 thread on setup info.
I have posted setup info myself at least once as well.
I would reccomend 2 tail units, one ball link kit, spare skids,
spare tail blades, an extra main motor, and maybe a canopy.
Oh, and 2 top shafts (the part the flybar sits in).
