Powering More Than One CellPro

I love my CellPor chargers and was wondering if I could make a "Y" cord and power two CellPro chargers off this single power supply?

http://www.usastore.revolectrix.com/...Power-Supply_2

The biggest battery I have is a 3s 2200 mAh battery and I always charge at 1C. Right now I am charging a 3S 800 mAh battery and it is showing .6 amps charging rate.

Will that work and not over amp the power supply? I've seen guys doing this with a car battery, but not sure about this power supply.

Thanks,

Frank

That is a 12V ,5A PS which is 60 watts.

Volts X Amps. = watts.

It is best to leave a 20% cushion so figure 48 watts available.

A 3S 2200 mAh (2.2Ah ) charged at 1c (2.2A) is 2.2 A X 12.6V =27.72A

You could get by charging two at once if you stargered the charges. That is start one and let it get to the CV stage where it starts to reduce the charge rate and then start the other charger. By doing this botth chargers will not be pulling max. current at the same time . You could also charge each at 1.8A versus 2.2A and the charge time would likely not be more than 10 minutes longer.

.6A (600 mA) / 88 mAh =6.81 C charge rate so I hope you made a typo.

Got it Charles, thanks! And I fixed the typo.

Good to know I can use two chargers on my power supply. I will probably only need to charge my 800 mAh batteries two at a time. The 2200 mAh batts are on my MM Switchback Sr that I will be selling so the batteries will be going with the plane and leave me just the little batts.

So based on your note above, 800 mAh at 1C = .8A x 12 = 9.6V (then times 2) = 19.2V. That's real good. I could even get away with 3 batts at one time. Did I do that correctly?

Thanks again,

Frank

Correct but watts not volts.

.8A X 12 Volts = 9.6 watts but then it is really .8 A X 12.6V ( 3s) =10.08 watts .so you could in fact do four of these at a time.

The PS is 12V at 5A so 60 watts but it is nivce to leave the 20% cushion I mentioned before which leave 48 useable watts.
