Help!
micro turbine

Hi, I am looking for a micro turbine (even pre owned will do) for a delta wing foamie (f27 Stryker). Does anyone have one or has an idea where I can get one? I am not very keen on a high end brand.

Thanks

I don't think there are any "low end" turbines.

A preowned one will do as a budget turbine.

Only thing that will fly a foamy, will be a Kolibri, or a P-20. You are looking at +$1900 even for a used one.

Oh... I guess a Jet Joe Jr will work... but they aren't very reliable. Generally, they run a few hours, and need service.

And since you are in the USA... you will need your waiver, and you can't do that on a foamy with a micro turbine. You need a 12 Lb dry model.

I'm working with CRX to modify the JJR to make it reliable and 4 1/2 -5# thrust. In testing now. New tunnel design and compressor will probably add about $200-$250 to the price but still cheap for a new micro turbine with a warranty.

Cool. I'd drive up north again to see that.

Does your T35 push that? Heck... I fly mine with an old AMT, and it's pushing 23 Lbs wet. (lol)

It would struggle on grass but did well from tarmac and had performance for aerobatics too, no problems looping from level flight. As the weight comes down it still has a reasonable thrust to weight ratio.

The 16.5lb old BVM F86 also flew on a T35, sort of in the same way as with the old DF engines.

Operating from 70meter paved runway with no problems. F86 needed about 60meters and Falcon 120 30meters or so. Falcon 120 is superlight for what it is even though on the upper side for a Kolibri.

I have no clue if the links work, if they do you got video
