VQ Kawasaki Hien

http://www.hobbypeople.net/index.php...ry-hatch.html#

Kawasaki HIEN (TONY) 46 EP-GP (with battery hatch)
46 Size Scale Almost-Ready-To-Fly All-Wood Airframe R/C Airplane
Unique, Intimidating.

The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien was a mystery to the Allied forces. It's reported that the first pilots who saw it thought it was a Japanese version of an ME-109. Later reports said it was Italian designed and won the nick-name “Tony”. However, the Ki-61 was a unique Japanese design. Historically it's a beautiful and unique design. As a model aircraft, the Ki-61 is a fast, clean, high-performance warbird that looks great and flies even better.

Build it stock with the included fixed-gear and you'll have a great looking Japanese warbird with a scale color scheme. Add the custom VQ electric retracts and add to the performance and speed. Either way you'll have it in the air quick and flying great because VQ uses advanced jigs and laser cutting to build a beautiful and straight airframe.

You can power it your way too. This VQ ARF is compatible with glow engine two and four strokes and standard electric motor power systems including the HP-Motors G-46 power system.

Fly something unique, the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hein, only from VQ ARFs

Thanks, I was pretty sure it was

Looks like a decent model and they have it in the HK USA warehouse. I am seriously thinking about picking this one up and electrifying it this winter

FYI - I reached out to HobbyPeople and they no longer carry this plane. They told me it is no longer available. So, does that make the planes that HK has the last ones If so, then these may not last very long.

I was looking at the same kit. VQWarbirds has them as well.

I wanted to get the Kyosho version but can't find it so was looking at the VQ one.

HK is selling them a bit cheaper, but shipping is another factor depending where you live.

I am sure the Kyosho is more scale, but this VQ Model version is hard to beat for the price. I love the color scheme on this model. It really sticks out from all the other models that are out there.

I'm about 75% done with mine, got some time off so I'm not going to hurry it.

I did move the E/R servos aft under the cockpit so I can move the battery back further for CG.

My buddies Yak 9 (VQ) was veeeery nose heavy with the recomended battery and servo placement.

I'll post some pics tomorrow of my progress.

I am building the Yak-9, and will just move things around to get a good CG. Planning on 4s with G-46 motor. I bought retracts to suit. Hoping these will be nice models. ------Metalguy

Sounds great! I am planning on building mine for 4s, as well. What size battery are you sticking in yours?
