Corona Final assembly questions: How does it look to you ?

Hi,

I am completely new in the helicopter arena and I need your help.

Here some different parts and how they look. Any comment, did I forget something, something that needs attention ? anything you could spot.

Thanks !

The Gyro is now attached, on a piece of wood. The gyro has no contact with the wood, from any side, and is put on the absorbing shock tape provided with it.
Behind is the FMA-Copilot.

For the FMA Co-pilot, I will do what I saw from people who used it and build a plate, on the back, above the tail boom.

For the Antenna, is it ok to make it turn around the tail boom, until it is fully extended ?

Do not wrap the antenna around the tail boom.

It should not touch any metal at any point, because this may cause interference.

I haven't used the FMA copilot, but I've heard it needs to see the horizon in all directions. If so, then your mounting may not work, because the crutch is blocking the view of the horizon.

Thanks Toshi,

I setup the GY401, following your instructions, in your manual.

For the Copilot, FMA manual explains that you should put it in diagonal, indeed, to make sure the cockpit does not interfear.

As for the antenna. What do you think to tie it to the landing gear then, which is not made of any metallic part ?

Hi patrick.
What I've seen a lot of people to, is run some fuel tubbing along the boom, and inside it the antenna (I've got about 44 cm spare, if you want).
Looks great so far! Where (and when) will you be doing the test flight?

I think you'll find out that the rear landing gear mount will need to be moved farther forward so you can move the battery farther forward to balance your heli. There's no way it will balance the way you have it and still be able to have the battery in the rear mount, unless you add weight to the front of the heli.

Oh, I thought you mounted the Copilot was in front of the gyro.

If you build a platform, it should be okay.

I ran my antenna through one of the holes in the tail fin, then taped it to itself. Seems to work ok.

Move the ESC away from the RX. They should not be next to each other at all.

Keep the antenna away form the ESC when you move it too.
