Careful JWB, the forum vultures may scold you for posting North American specific content

Seeing as there is a britPOP in the picture and I am posting this from outside of the USA, it should be OK.

Rubix (IOM)

New pictures showing my new (IOM) design 'Rubix', Sail no 23 and test hull no 2. This yacht was launched last week and will be evaluated over the coming months.

Sail no 31 and test hull no 1 has been sailing over the last few months. The differences between the two boats can be seen below..

Regards,
JT

The hulls look great john, the rocker profile looks pretty extreme on the new one! What was the design thinking with exaggerated bussle at the stern? It will be interesting to hear how she goes.

Will you be sailing one of them at Dartmoor next weekend?

Thanks for your comment. Basically for both boats and using my design program, I reduced the beam by 15mm from my 'Shiraz'. Therefore, I had to tweak the lines to regain the required displacement. The two hulls show how I achieved that. Additionally, by increasing the buoyancy and adding a flare to the bow sections, this is how I achieved the 'Rubix ' design.

I will be sailing my Shiraz next week at the Dartmoor district race, but hopefully Rubix 2 will be competing also.

Hi Ted,

Yes it is a ranking event. Nov 21-23....I will post the NOR this week.

Hopefully Fred Rocha or Tony Gonsalves made an announcement at the Canadian NCR last week.
