Looking for a good photo editing program

Hello to all:
I am now an owner of a digital camera.
I would like to be able to sharesome pic's with all of you out there.
The disc that came with my camera is well, pretty useless, about all the program will do is let me look at the pic's on the computer.
I found that I can use Outlook Express to resize the pic, but it doesn't always end up under the 100K limit.

So a question to all:
Any recommendations for a program to resize the file size?
Looking for sorta cheap (free) just to resize
Or a good photo editing program Not too expensize though still want to be able to buy airplanes
Thanks to all
Rick

Microsoft Paint can resize images, just click Image/ Stretch and Skew. A decent photo editing program that is free is Picasa 2 from Google.

Try Irfanview

Rick - The program I use most to crop & resize digital photos for posting is Irfanview. It's free and really easy to use. It'll open just about any type of image file and there are lots of downloadable plugins for the file types it can't handle in the base program.

I have several editing programs including Photoshop, but use Irfanview the most, several times a day it seems like. With a half dozen clicks you can crop and resize and sharpen you shots for posting.

Can't say enough good things about it, take a look HERE

Good luck & have fun with the new camera

Video editor

Does anyone know of a video editor (cheap) that can rotate video 90 degrees? I am using an aiptek 1.3 camera and to mount the camera under the wing, My video is turned sideways. None of my photo editing software will rotate video.

Windows Moviemaker will do it and you should already have it installed if you have a version of windows in this century

I've got moviemaker installed, but I can't find where it allows me to rotate the view 90 degrees.

Thanks, it seems that my version of moviemaker is outdated and doesn't offer video effects. I looked on Microsofts site, and it can only be downloaded as a SP2 for XP. I'll check mine at home too but I don't recall video effects there either. I'll just have to get it.

Also consider this free editor....http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/
Seems to be very complete. Irfanview is another good one, I agree.
