aspeed, you forgot distributed by German, flight tested by Malaysian, advertised by Singaporean, sold by Chinese in a company (possibly) owned by Australian.

My latest airplane, my first RC, is a balsa, silk, and dope Buzzard Bombshell built from the Brodak kit, with a Black Widow 049.

Fantastic, pilatus mike. Please post photos of your build progress, the completed plane and flight videos or photos. That will be neat to see fly.

Thank you GG this one is a design / build of my own.
I was tempted to make it a profile RC as its an easy task with today's micro RC gear but decided to stick with
the original posted CL thread. Perhaps next will do another with a built up fuselage to protect the RC gear from
the engine goo. This ones ready to fly at 95.06g /3.4 oz less fuel.

Due to much difficulty on the home front, I've been our of action for a half dozen years or so, for the most part.

Also ran into financial difficulty.

You can see some of my 1/2A engine work on Youtube, here.
Piped .074 with 7 x 3 APC prop AVI (0 min 56 sec)

Only twice did I consider selling any of my 1/2A engines, or gear, or kits. I let go two Norvel .074s under duress but i DO have a half dozen NIB along with three in place in aircraft.

In fact, I now have a number of Lekkie ARFs I bought from HK that suit 1/2A perfectly, and then some. Just a little beefing up to endure the rigours of an engine and we get a well made, very light airplane that provides much flying satisfaction.

No, 1/2A will never die. It MAY fade away, like an old soldier, but that will take longer than most of us will live, I think.

When I was park flying on a steady basis, many spectators commented that the size and ease of handling 1/2A was quite appealing. The big stuff. while impressive, was often regarded as intimidating and too expensive.

I remember paying 60 dollars US which was 100 dollars Canadian, in 1995, for Cannon "micro"servos. Today, we have far superior servos in size and quality for under 10 dollars, Canadian, and adjusted for inflation, that's nothing short of incredible.

While it lasts, we live in the best possible time for our hobby, including 1/2A.

I remember the Cannon micro equipment way back. I really wanted that setup but didn't have the cash. Guess for the best. Forced me to build my .049 stuff to fly on standard size Futaba gear.

I too salivated about the Cannon radios back then, but instead settled on the Micro flight pack Tower was selling in the mid 80's. It was AM too and the 4 channels Rx+two servos and 100 mA Ni-cad & switch was 2.5 Oz and around $ 85 if I remember well!
