We do. Thanks. I'm going 6s per your recommendation Bob. And I have a 7s pack to try if need be.

I'm running zero timing on the motor and the lowest switching freq. This coming weekend ill record some numbers as the packs will have enough cycles by then.

Got my fan. Now, I am experimenting with motor options. I might try this setup in one of my Savex L-39s.

Hi STU,

I have an ARC 36-65-1 just sitting around waiting for a new project. Looking at the E-Flight F-4 too, it's a real beauty and would do this fan justice. Would the ARC motor be suitable for this fan on 6S?

Motor tubes are made for 39mm, you would have to sleeve the motor to get it to fit properly, and now with the new motor tubes having no actual motor mounts on them, I dont think it will be possible. The motors are all being held in by set screws now, look at the photos from the back angle you will see set screws just behind the stators.

Yeah thanks - after reading the first post properly I just realized it's 39mm not 36mm.

Looks like I'll the motor back on the shelf again for a while....

Ok now that I've completely read Stu's post and watched the video, I've got to order one for my E-flight F-4.

The fan is a done deal but the motor I'm having difficulty with - any suggestions or thoughts would really be helpful thanks.

I have a bunch of 4S 4000 packs but I doubt 4000mah will be enough for a +3kw fan setup (with any reasonable flight time that is). I personally don't fly at WOT all the time but three minutes is a bit short for me - I'm just starting to settle the nerves down from the takeoff by then

I also have 5S 4000 so I'd hate to have to go 6S 5000 packs if I can avoid it.

Does it matter if the thermal compound is silver or ceramic based? I went with the ceramic as it would a good bit cheaper.

The brand I use is white, Never really looked at the compound makeup.
