The elevon trim shown on post #17 was spot-on; my Screamer did not need a single click of elevator trim. Thanks Don!
Welcome to the Screamer club!! It is the best flying out of the bunch and the easiest to hand launch too!

Turns out I'm unlucky, the bottom hatches are pretty solidly glued in, so it'll be more of a snake job, scared of exerting too much force on it and snapping something

The bottom portion is glued on and you really need to take it off to install the electronics.

Mine was glued in solidly as well.

I gave up, and just replaced the motor with EDF unit using a Wicked. Luckily the motor and EDF cover is held on by magnets.

Stock ESC is no good for the Wicked Wemo combo so a Plush is used, same as the Hobbywing Pentium series.

ESC pocket needed some carving, but can be done without actually taking off the glued bottom half.

BTW I used glass fiber cloth and some resin to harden the lip of the inlet duct.

A thin butter knife is a great tool for seperating glue joints

Don you said fan area prep typical of other 50mm models. Anything in particular? Did some searches on your past posts.

Have a 6000kv and an XRP, debating which one to install, think I'll use the 6000 on this one and the XRP on the second airframe.

Just making a groove for the ring around the fan housing.

Hmm my efforts to hand cut a locater ring are a tad uneven even using a fresh scalpel blade. Maybe a strip of foam bent into a ring would be more accurate? Have DTF, 3mm epp and 6mm model plane foam to choose from.

Thin strip works as well. I have done that several times.
