Scrathbuilt Swifter CHEAP Sloper Plank from FFF

Hello - this plane may get hammered in here, but I thought it might be interesting for those looking for a cheap and fast building Sloper. It's based on the Revert and the KF48 concepts from years ago. There was much dispute over this design making lift. The airfoil design is now known as the KF Airfoil and this is one that I used on the first 3D foamies back in the day to make the wings ridged by folding the leading edge over on itself.

The Swifter;
36" Wingspan
5.5" Chord
1.75" x 16.5" Elevons
150mAh NiMH 4.8v RX Pack
Spektrum 6100 RX
2 - HS-55 SERVOS

Built with hot glue and 3m-77 plus a little packing tape.

If I knew it would have flown so well, I would have made it prettier.

Thanks for looking and be gentle.........
* 4/6/10 Full size plans now posted.

UPDATE: 2/4/14 Re-posted the Swifter video to youtube. Featuring myself and Shawn SpiKer from Hitec RCD sloping her at Polomar Mountain on 4/4/10 I believe. Enjoy. Sorry for deleting the original video

Full size plans are up. Don't think there is any need for tiled plans on this one. It's pretty simple to build with just a straight edge. No need to print. If anyone wants a tiled plan, just let me know and I will post one.
Thanks again for your interest

Nice plank, another gem.

We've got the mountains here, but they're all covered with very tall trees. We go up the sides on the logging roads and heave ho, and hope there's no tears later. Your flattie slopers and elcheapo gear are a perfect match, no worries if they don't make it home.

Using your inspiration, I'm slicing out a flattie Simitar sloper based on Bill Evan's designs from RCM way back when it was the #1 RC model magazine.

Here's one of many Simitars that came in all sizes, the 1/2A powered version.

The straight LE and tappered TE gives it an agressive look, and she not bad either, complete with that 70's doo.

For the record, these platforms balance about 1/2" back from the LE.
