Seattle Flight Report for 6-21-14
Well, I'm finally back after a years absents. I decided to go out and limber up my flying skills. I was afraid I would be a little rusty. I took my slowest flying plane, that is a super floater. It's a EZ 400 G ER. I got to the field at 7:30 A.M. trying to beat the wind. It was a very light and variable wind, out of the West, and 55 degrees. I got set up and took the pre-flight shot for you guys.
I really wasn't expecting any lift at this hour of the morning. I just wanted to fly around and loosen up a bit. I climbed up to 300 ft. or so, and BAM, up she went. I was shocked. It was getting a little windier as time went on. I found I was sitting still in the sky facing the wind on a few occasions. I got 2 more rides !!! I was amazed. By now the wind was stronger and I decided to bring her down. It was a nice landing. I didn't need the spoilers.
Needless to say I was thrilled. That was the best 22 minute flight I've had in a long time. I guess my rusty joints are all limbered up again.
I have the battery's charging for tomorrow's flight. I'm hoping the wind stays calm.
And that's the way it was here in Seattle on this June 21, 2014.
