Post 92 and 60 have some photo's of those mounts installed. I had to use a cupped washer for a space on the one closest to the wheel.

The gear doors were probably the biggest PIA of the whole assembly. oops on the Nextar. Cant figure out how to remove so left it. LOL

OneS I still think you have the COOLEST nose art ever and it sure would look good on my plane... so this is the one I'm going with. Roll Tide will be removed though,.

Back on the bench... Finally decided on some nose art to make it unique to me. Added some flight metal to exhaust stack. I want to add functional exhaust from Kelo but (a) don't want slime down side of plane and (b) need all the power I can get to turn that prop. Tempted to try the 16x8 biela mustang prop but $90 prop to 'test' and considering APC issued a wanrning on their 15x12 4 blade saying not to use on anything bigger than the YS 140 - still considering. So that's an option to anyone looking at wanting to use a 4 blade prop too... YS140 and the 15" APC 4 blade. It weighs abt the same as the OS120. The APC is abt $15 as compared to the $90 for the Beila.

To those wanting to go scale like do......The new YS180 sport is now out.. Powerhouse in a lightweight package and supercharged. It will turn the scale biela 17.25" 4 blade Mustang prop with a simplified fuel pressurized tank/supercharger system as compared to the more complicated fuel injection / supercharger system I am using. The superchargers are similar to the roots type system and are crankshaft driven. They do have that roots type loud 'whine' at the upper RPM. - which I think is cool. (And why the boat has two supercharged engines instead of turbo's.. Sounds Better. LOL)

Finally had great weather today and was able to maiden my P-51... Takeoff was a little wild as not enough rudder and veered left but I got her up and did a few circuits while dialing her in. Once trimmed I immediately felt comfortable. Landing was probably one of the best I've ever had.

Robart prs electric mains performed flawlessly.

That's AWESOME!! Welcome to the Brotherhood of TF P51 fans. Yeah.. Keeping the tailwheel down is a challenge to hold it straight until enough speed. .. I had increased my rudder a touch too.

Love hearing about a great maiden. *toast*
