Looks like a speed demon. What sort of control surfaces do you have planned?

The control surfaces will be:
Aileron (external)
Elevator (internal)
Rudder
And....

A a system which allows a in-flight C of G variable position.
Substantially a servo controlled moving mass mixed with elevons to compensate and adjust trim speed.

At 2.5m you could use a ballast system too.........
I tried a moveable weight on low AR Horten wing and even though the weight had a lot of travel, CG change was minor. Your wing will be more sensitive. so maybe there's a workable system for you. How much CG change are you aiming for?

With a ballast between 200 and 400g i did some calculation and have (with a total weigth of 1600-2000g) a C.G. moving about +/-5 +/-10 mm. With a plank-like planform like this it will be work for fine tuning CG.

That would be great.

Even a 3mm CG shift would be noticeable. So if I understand correctly, you are planning on making the ballast moveable in order to achieve in-air CG adjustment.

Yes it's correct, i will mix some up or down deflection of entire wing to widen the speed range of the plane. backwards CG for poor condition and more reactivity, (it's a sloper) and forward position when is needed more stability on rough condition.

here some work on the moulds, this is the tail mould, lamination of first piece, and first piece out of the mold (in Banzai edition !)

See soon

Holy Moly it's molded !

This may be the first molded project to arrive at the Nurflügel forum. I understood that it is all composite, but that could have been vac. bag over foam.

That is a really, really, REALLY nice looking fin.

Yes, is made all in vacum bag a -0.85bar at 40°C in custom made oven.
The layup for this piece was:
- release agent
- 2k polyurethane finish, red and white
- 25g plain glass cloth
- 80g twill glass cloth (at+/-45°)
- 1,2mm airex C7075
- 50g plain glass cloth

plus peelply+microhole release film+aereator cloth

Wow again...............
So the skin is a molded laminate with a "foam" airex C7075 core.

The airex must provide for a very stiff laminate......no need for carbon fiber, even at DS speeds.

The great thing about molded composites is that once you have completed the massive amount of work to perfect the molds, you can "pop out" the highest quality parts in day.

If any plank has a chance of breaking the DS speed record, I would think that it would be this one.

I'm still trying to guess what country you are from.... the airex was a good clue. Here's my guess.
