Has anybody chopped off the nose and put a motor in this plane yet? What size motor & prop are recommended?

I'm curious to know how well this plane will perform as a warmliner/thermaller from a schoolyard setting. My twin brother has been out of this hobby for a few years, and just got bitten by the RC bug again.

I thought it might make a nice birthday present for him.

I am not aware of anyone doing so yet. I have a motor ready to drop in though.. Just an old Mega inrunner I have sitting around.

No naked carbon is ok with me. I like the economy of these

Flouro colors can be sprayed with a uv clear to help with the fade I believe. Now we need custom bags.

I measured the firewall and it's 31.5mm the canopy erea holds a 3s 2700mah Lipo no prob. Thermaling might be challenging at that wing loading, but as warm/hot liner it should be lots of fun. Hope this helps.

Took the plane to Bluff Cove today and tossed it over the edge. Did not need a single click of trim and was a joy to fly.. I was worried about the landing at Bluff with the Rotor in full swing, but it was a non issue as the wind direction changed and we all had to land. The 2 Genesis in the air made it to the landing field, but the 3 meter that was up with us didn't.. Got some video I'll have to process.

The red and white looks great - did you paint it?

I saw a Genesis fly yesterday in 35 mph, gusting 50. It was fully ballasted and flew great, huge pumps and tight turns.

I have white/red and white/blue in stock. The are the "standard" versions without the flaps.

Is there any difference between the flapped vs. non-flapped besides a carefully razor-sawed aileron? as in, did the flapped version have servo pockets cut-out too? Just wondering how much effort it would be to add flaps...

Flaps are bottom hinged and have 4 larger pockets in the wings, and at different locations.

Flap servo cover is set up for top driving, but they can be cut for bottom driving if one wanted.

The factory actually uses a different mold for the flapped wing. No shortcuts taken.

Flaps extend further in towards the Fuse.

I think that is about it.

I'll have to post up some detailed pics... right after I take some.

Wayne what version do you fly? The throws listed on your site work great, I maidened mine with a nice launch from maciner yesterday. Man the thing really carves a nice line in the corners. You all have seen the pics of mine being built by big gas and I had him wringe it out as part payment I did fly it on his radio in decent conditions but yesterday was with my rx and your recommended throws. I need to work on my flap programming tho, it was doing loops with 25 % of flap stick movement. I do have a bunch of down elevator already and a decent ammount of up on ailerons. Will post actuall throws in a bit when I measure them. Thanks James
