If we don't have 30 people, then the club picks up the tab for less than that

Upcoming events:
This Saturday, October 20, will be the makeup Aerotow in Grantsville
October 27, last ALES contest, Tom will be the CD, location? time?
There was a Turkey Shoot scheduled for Nov. 10, which has been cancelled. In place of it there will be a Fun Fly for Turkeys, either at Kearns or The Point, depending on the wind—bring whatever you want and FLY. There will be a raffle for two turkeys for all the Turkeys who fly.
December 11, the SECOND Tuesday, will be our awards dinner (see below)

Show-n-tell:
Scott Hinckley gave away a Spektrum 5-channel receiver
Scott also has reduced the price on a ParkZone Vapor indoor RC RTF with 3 batteries, charger, and DX5E transmitter—only $7500

Tom Hoopes gave a glowing report on the Hitec 2.4GHz module for use in JR transmitters all the way back to the 347. It has top-line workmanship and a plethora of telemetry options. He will be flying his Pegasus 2 aerotow plane with this.
Tom also talked a little about the latest HobbyKing Turnigy lipo charger. It will charge 4 batteries at a time at up to 10 amps each; the newer model of what Mike Gibson is using.

Presentation by Tom Hoopes on airplane setup and trimming
Included was terminology, 4 steps to trimming before flight, Mean Aerodynamic Chord (MAC) calculation and recommendations for CG balance, and steps in flight evaluation.
As always, an excellent presentation by Tom. We all learned something.
