Got a new canopy on a Christmas special. This might be my favorite one so far.

Nice...Looks cool and is easy to see.
I have always liked the yellow/black combo.
Nice flying by the way too as always.
Weather here is going to crap so I'll make another instructional video on binding tail sliders on why it happens, I think a lot of guys are missing the reason why it happens, it pains me to hear of someone reaming out the slider to free it up unless of course they got carried away with the thread lock and need to clean it out. I am on vacation for the rest of the year and need to fill my time.
I can always watch your videos.

I picked up a Quantum 4125-1100kv motor for my stretched X5. By getting rid of the 12S motor, lipos and X7 tail box i shaved 3/4 of a pound from the heli. This motor on 6S with how light the heli is and the higher HS i can get. It is a much better setup than 12S was for this build. Hopefully no more stripping gears either. It really flies nice and has a nice air presence. It will look better when i change the canopy. This one is crashed up pretty good and only on there in case the worst happens.
But this motor has made my ESC start acting a little funny. Nothing major, i don't think. It is just weird. It would freak me out more if another guy at my RC club didn't already have this motor in his Goblin 570 and doing exactly the same thing.
Oh yeah, this weekend was the first time doing piro tic tocs on a real heli. I only started doing them in the sim a few days ago. So they are still really, really sloppy.
I had the regular X5 out as usual too. But the X5.7 might become a new favorite quick if it holds up without stripping gears or something.
Daytona Helifest this weekend! Anyone in the area should come out. It's usually a good time! http://www.modelaircraft.org/events/...10%2f31%2f2015

Daytona Helifest was canceled due to weather. Which really sucks because it is one of only 2 heli only events in all of Florida in a given year.
At least there was good weather all this last week to get in plenty of flying before the weekend. Only problem is I have a 4 day weekend and the weather is going to be the whole time.
On the bright side, I've put over 10 flights on this new 6S build of my stretched X5 to 570mm blades and the gears don't seem to be stripping. I'm not really going any more gentle than i do with my other helicopters, which is good. I have the feeling like it might benefit from some higher torque servos or something. But otherwise, this almost flies better than my regular X5. Just a lot different and more floaty feeling.
