What is the negative of having throttle trim all the way down all the time? Not enough power?

Well, my manual has it backwards, as the poster had as well. Took me a time or two before I realized that was backwards from the way it is supposed to be.

Step 7, says to hook battery BEFORE shorting the pins. This is the incorrect procedure. The pins must be shorted before powering the RX. At least with any Spektrum Rx I have dealt with, and this one as well, needed the pins shorted first, before powering the Rx

Here's a photo of the trim settings on my DX7s. With this setting a slight bump of the throttle stick turns the motor on.

the receiver LED begins to fl ash rapidly (typically after 5
seconds).
And back in step 5 says put transmitter in bind mode (which I took to mean turn it on with bind button held in)
5. Put your transmitter into bind mode. Refer to your transmitter’s
manual for binding button or switch instructions.

I found that I had to short pins first, plug in plane battery, then put transmitter in bind mode.

It just seemed confusing to me at first anyway.

righty tighty, lefty loosey - small crescent wrench or pliers (or box end wrench or socket if you want to do it right) - rotate nut counterclockwise while holding prop. Mine was no problem to remove.

Agreed, had the "boss" my wife read it, and she too says that those steps are written confusing, as once you get to step 7 and read it, it appears the manual wants the battery hooked before the pins are shorted. So I can see how some can get confused on this.

I now see though, if you ignore the second sentence in step 7 it would be correct.. still needs rewritten, to be less confusing.

Why no bind plug? We have to resort to paper clips and such, it's hard to hold the trainer switch, turn on TX, and hold something to short the pins all at the same time.

A paperclip seems to "jamb" in between the pins without bending them, and hemostats seem to work too.

agreed a jumper of some sort would have been great.

reverse grip tweezers. don't even need to take the hatch off.

Also yes the manual is correct, just gotta read a bit more carefully. All it is saying in step 7 is the keep shorting it until you have bound successfully.

I'm flying 10 min on the Hyp 550s and still not replacing 80%.
The Hyp 320s are giving me 5~6 min super light flights.
Perfect batt for touch-n-go work from a small field.

Will be test flying lightened T.P.s next.
Do you think there will be a demand for lightened T.P. (3S) 325 65C w/JST-XH taps?

RC so far it appears that the TP 325 65C is one of the best lightweight batteries. I'd say go for it.

Read all the steps again. in step 4 they have you short the pins. no where between 4 and 7 do they tell to remove the short! What step 7 says is to plug the battery in, Pins still shorted from step 4, and keep the pins shorted until the led flashes rapidly (about 5 seconds).

I keep my throttle trim 5 clicks below neutral on all my planes--as safety measure--so if I bump throttle--or if I mean to put it all the way down--but don't--the throttle remains off.

some planes (or ESC to be more precise) need the throttle calibrated so that throttle has full range--and starts before 1/2 thottle. This plane did not.

If throttle trim is ALL way down--I suppose you might not ever reach WOT.

I think the edge should come with a bind plug, it should also have a tag on the bind plug saying "throttle trim needs to be in lowest position to arm esc".

So should I keep bumping it up then until it arms?

Quite annoying... Unless there aren't ill effects of having It all the way down.
