Build Log
K130 Build Log

Going to do a little build log as I go through the build of my 130.

All I have done so far is LOTS of fondling and dry fit the servos in place.

I am thinking that I may not need a match box for flaps with my 18ch radio...

Just waiting for Spencer to email me some more instructions as I lost mine lol

I love this colour scheme

Glad to see you getting started Alex! I emailed the instructions again.

I recommend glueing in the elevator horn with the stabilizer mounted to the fuselage and the clevis mounted to the horn. That way you are sure to hit the center with no rubbing and not have to remove any material from the vert stab.

Git R Done!

Cheers, Spencer. Did that with the K2m and worked a treat.

Nope they are Airtronics. Running Spencer's recommended set-up.

Awesome Alex! Good on you for taking pics and doing a build log.

FWIW I reckon the matchbox is money well spent. I don't think a radio could have the same accuracy as the matchbox but I could be wrong. I was super impressed with how small the increments are. Because the surfaces have no twist, the servos and linkages are perfectly tight, it only took the smallest click of difference between the two flap servos for heat to quickly build up in the servos. I was shocked actually. Sometimes it would sound like no binding was occuring but after a couple movements with the flaps I could feel quite a bit of heat on the outside of the servo case. With the Matchbox I could do a micro adjustment and get it so that the flap servos weren't running warm at all. The two servo flap setup on the K130 is just incredibly, perfectly, tight. Real satisfying when you have it finished. Wish all planes could be this good!
