Design Comp Idea?

My suggestion for the next design comp is this......

To make it exciting......The model must have 2 or more fans.

To keep it inexpensive and still have good performance the design must use the Wemotec Microfan with a ferrite motor (speed300 or 280bb).

Me262?
B52?
Tristar?

Actually, Aero Spacelines did seriously consider this, and also a 707 and 747 versions. Visit my "What If We" page at:

Sure is. Dan and me. Dan gets the credit for the Super Guppy design. As a side note, this model was one of the first (if not the first) RC model which used 3D Cad as the design tool. Up until then, modelers (Art Johnson, for one) used 2D Cad for model design, but not 3D.

After the Guppy was featured in a series of Art's columns and later an article in RCM by the same name (Evolution of the Super Guppy), manufacturers began touting that their designs were "CAD Designed".

The Guppy was also the first electric model to compete in the Western Regional Scale Masters Qualifer (we took 1st Place Team Scale, not quite the honor it would first seem; we were the only model in that catagory that year ).

The world may yet see another RC Super Guppy take to the skies!

borabora,

I've been considering building a triple EDF50 or KP44 Colonial Viper for a while. The major thing stopping me is that I do not think I will be able to fly such a beast in my 3-court sized flying area.

I like the idea of a "park jet" design competition as well....

Something speed 300 or under, hmmm sounds like it would make for some interesting designs.
