And Another Titanic B-29

Here's another Titanic B-29 for all to enjoy. I had alot of help getting it to this stage and I would like to thank Tim O'Mahony, Lyle Thompson, Bobby Thompson, and last but not least, Randy Linderman ( http://flyinglindy.homestead.com/B29e.html)
who also has a thread of his B-29 plus some excellent photo's of it on his website. If it wasn't for him Zip filing the instruction to me, I would of never got it done . Thanks guys!

It is powered by (4) S400 6.0 volt motors and is covered with chrome Ultracoat, burnished in certain area's to give it an authentic look. And Flite Metal, which was used on the tail section and exclusively on the cockpit. She'll be at the NW Hobby Expo this weekend. She's not complete but I thought I'd show her anyway and show fellow modellers what electrics have evolved into.
Enjoy!

Great looking model.
Why were these models discontinued?

Too complicated to produce, not enough profit. TA is a small company, that produces some kit's in germany. So they have to keep the product range small.

I've been told by TA, that they might start production again after a redesign.

Very nice!! Now I know how I'll cover mine. Got it for Christmas, still in the box. Got two more planes to build before I get to it, but I have been thinking about the covering, no more. It looks so good. Can't wait to start mine. Good luck at NW and have fun!

PS My canopy is rather bumpy in spots, did you find this too or did I just get a bad one? I was thinking of casting stone into it a pulling a new one in clear PETG.

Steve,
I had a few lumps in my canopy as well but nothing I couldn't easily sand out. A clear canopy wold be VERY kool! I thought about it too but I was pretty anxious to get her done and into the air soon. I'll get some photo's of it at NWE this weekend and post them here.

Feel free to email me if you need any help on your "29 when you get to it. I'd love to give ya a hand

Thanks Perry, I may take you up on that. Lucky for me the instructions are in the kit.
The lumps I have couldn't be sanded away. The plastic is thinner on one side than on the other, too thin in
fact. I don't think this has been vacuum formed very well. It's a big piece to try and pull in one shot. They
would have done better if it were in two halves, but then you'd have the problem of seam running through
some of the windows.
My thought was to cast into the ABS nose a plug, glass on that, remove the windows and put in clear panels
behind the frames. Not real easy.
I don't think my vacuum form would have enough horses to pull one in PETG or that would be the way to go.
Thanks again Perry,
Steve
