On the Johnson motor.. there are alot of threads on gearing these motors.. just type in the word Johnson.. in the search box bottom left.. for this plane I would stick with 2.5:1 3:1 3.5:1 or 4:1... thoses gearings should run the prop up fast enough for busting wind..

just a lil right thrust.. to offset that prop tork.. make sure your wheels are striaght .. the mono and windbuster will take off on the ground if you have them set up right.. .. just take it to a grass field and hand toss for trim flight after that you can fly it anywhere...

Ok, we're off to the field. It's a nice day so I hope it's not overrun with football practice or something.

Oops, to late. can I attach my thread or can a moderator please merge them? For now, I'll double post to here and go delete the copies if that will work.

Hang on everyone......

The Build: (pacman intro music in the background)

What can I say. The build is far easier than ANY plane I have ever built. The only trouble I had was overthinking it WAY to much. I never built a slow stick, so the "stick fuse" was new to me. Once I got over all that, I'd say I spent maybe 90 minutes of actual build time on this little beauty!

Air Mover has some "how to" pic in his thread and they do it a lot more justice than I ever could here. I got the box, glued the wings together, cut a hole for a servo, attached another, ran the control rods, attached the motor (this is the part that I thought so long and hard about) and batt, balanced and flew! That simple, that quick.

To Be Continued:

I took it out to my back porch to taxi a bit, had too much right thrust, fixed that, charged the batts, cut the yard and it was off to the flying field.

My first choice was overrun by kids' football teams, so I got stuck in a smallish baseball field. Not the best place for a maiden but that's ok.
