Ajax Ontario

The Slow Stick has been taking the backseat to the SoarStar so I took the Stick out for an airing. Dull, overcast but no wind.

Ajax came into being in WW2 as a munitions factory. The embryonic town was named after HMS Ajax of the Ajax, Exeter and Achilles squadron that defeated the Graf Spee outside Montevideo. I am sure you all remember that engagement.

Ajax is now a city just east of Toronto. Most of the economic activity in the area revolves around automobile manufacturing.

There is a a very large recreational buffer zone against the lake.
