You will show up as an unregistered user if you use a web client before logging into the forums. To fix this, either log into the forums before using the web client, or type /nick MyNewName in the chat window.
I hope that covers the basics, please feel free to chime in with comments or questions.

Hello nihil

You will recognize me by my nickname Zor.
I left above what pertains to this query.

You are saying _ _ _ _
if you use a web client before logging into the forums.

I undersgtand that what you refer to as "web" in the line above is the World Wide Web.
Then the word "client" I understand to be the software one uses to navigate the WWW, which in my case is Internet Explorer version 6.0 .

Then you say _ _ _ _
log into the forums before using the web client.

Now you can see that I am all confused. I cannot log into the forum or the chat room wihout being on the internet and having connected to the RCGroups.com

That means to me that I have to run (start) my "web client" namely IE6 to go to RCGroup and then to the chat room.

I would much appreciate your valuable time to explain clearly to me what I do not understand.

All my best regards anticipating your reply.

Zor

Hello rcnutt

Here is what I understand _ _ _
There is many chat rooms. You can see the list if you click "change chat room" button just above the box in which you can see and mix into the conversations.

The room ususally active (meaning where conversations are taking place) is the "general room".

I understand that the other rooms, as their names imply, are used for special specific conversations and are used only at specific times.

I have no idea what these times are (scedules) and do not know how to find out.

I have come into the general chat room many times in the last two months. I often switch to these other rooms and have never seen anything going on. As you say "just a blank page".

You may possibly ask nihil.
Nihil is an expert in all these things, a very nice person and very helpful. Sometime he might talk above your head and you might not understand what he is explaining but that is typical of a real expert. It is difficult to come down to our level.

Hope this helps a bit,

Best regards de Zor
