Redundant power supply for the receiver

has anyone ever experimenting doing the following wiring?

basically instead of cutting off the red bec wire on the esc, put a diode in there that will make the power from the ESC to the receiver ONE WAY.

that way the external bec would not feed the esc in anyhow and in case the bec fails, the esc can provide power to the receiver.

let me know your thoughts!

thanks

This one is clever. Charges it's own 2S li-po while the normal BEC is working. If the BEC or the power pack fails it till feed the Rx AND let you know via the LED.

Very common in by the helicopter guys where you put high loads on the drive train too.

I've been doing that for years on my three giant scale models.
