Last night they were in the process of moving the site from walkera.com/en1 to en. Tonight they now only have the 6 manual. I'm also looking for it.

Hi Helliefan, welcome to the V400D02 club! Yes, you will most likely need to adjust some things to avoid crashing on the launching pad. Ready To Fly should be revised to state Ready To Adjust. At any rate, I wrote a blog about adjusting the V400, "Properly setting up a V400D02," which should help. The blog has a picture of a correctly adjusted V400--you should definitely compare to verify that yours looks right.

I get mine tomorrow, and want to advise you to look forward to replacing the cheap-o plastic gear servos Walkera blessed the V400 with. I have some Fusonic Fusonic (MG-D-9G) on the way. They are digital and not real expensive so we will see. I am a total noob to flying only having time on a little Nano but had to go ahead and get the V400 so I can get some Simulator time with the Radio I will be using. Lot sof good stuff here. Despite the OE low rent servos and such the guys still love the Heli. |

I snapped off the ball from a blade grip. Don't waste your money on the Moody screw extractors. Even heat from an iron couldn't get the stud out. I thought I remember that a grip from one of the V450 fits. Is that the case or am I looking at another whole head assy (thank you Walkera!)? I have a backup head but would like to make this into another backup.

I did that to one of mine, too. I was unable to mix and match different grips and have the rotor head balance without vibes. At the time, I decided to just harvest the thing for parts that were still useful--axial bearings, thrust bearings, screws, rotor head bock, dampers, etc.

I'm not going to clutter the thread with my experience using stainless fasteners into aluminum but I will say I see myself learning how to artfully apply a Copper based anti seize onto these little buggers on such parts as you mention. Too much and it will not hold, too little and it still corrodes in. Too tight and Someone made sure yours was not going to fall out, yes? |

Hi Guys, Still hunting and gathering. I'm going to assemble my own Tail Motor Wiring harness because I need to hone the skills back into shape anyways. FYI, I'm semi retired.
Can someone tell me the AWG size of these wires? I dare not assume. I see some 1600mAh battery packs with 16 AWG discharge and 24 AWG charging wires in their specs. I know I want silicone. And forgive me but I read, and thought I bookmarked, a post on a forum about wire types. It had a decent chart and good summary. I cannot find it again tfor the life of me. Anyone? |
