Well, RCBabbel was supposed to do it this morning, but since we have not heard from him yet, maybe he is still picking up the pieces and will only report when the bag will be full....

Hey guys,
Work got me again. Had just enough time this morning for a few Hyp 3S 180 run ups. AS3X system and servos are operating normally. Batt is a snug fit. Awesome power! Beast 3D with 5030 prop: Peak static RPM: 14,250 After 30 sec run time: 13,750 This is going to be fun!! Got to run... rc |

Woah woah, 3S using the stock brick/motor? *drools uncontrollably* I MUST see a video of it flying! If you start making 3S packs you will have many customers........

So basically, other than not having LVC anymore (and you should not hit that anyway!) and carrying a few more grams, there's basically no drawback unless you don't want a speedy aircraft. I guess hot summer days may be a problem... |

This stripped down Hyp 3S 180 has me way excited! It's almost the exact same weight as the stock UMX Hyp 2S 240s. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...&postcount=616 16.56g vs 16.76g No additional weight. No change in balance point. Crazy power if you so desire. Hovering an ultra-micro without extra power drives me nuts. Hope to take her up tomorrow after work. Bringing along a 5043 as well. rc |

B3D runs on 3S
excited on 3s setup, I decided to make a 3s connector myself. it was done within an hour. test run with 2300kv motor + 5043, seems to be fine. here are some pics and test run video.

I have no experience with different voltages being used for rc motors, but in general for the same watts of power produced, higher voltage would draw less amps wouldn't it? So sounds like you should be able to make more watts for the same or less amps with 3 cell.

Roger,
Have you plugged in a 3S setup and counted the "beeps" from the ESC? In the video above it sounds like only 2 cells are being detected. Gary |

test flew B3D with my 3s setup this morning, AUW 82g, It handle extre weight very well, vertical performance was very solid! that's was the biggest improvement, hover and TR were easier bue to increased punch. not much faster though. will try different prop and motor setup on 3S, and keep you guys posted. |

You are correct. Propped for the same wattage, a 3s setup will draw much less current than a 2s setup. Higher voltage is also more efficient, as it allows one do the same amount of work while drawing less current. Less current means lower I^2R loss, which, as the formula shows, exponentially increases efficiency. Joel |

Anyone interested in a HK nano tech 25C 2S 180 test?
Const. Dsc 1-3A https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...56&postcount=1 nano and Hyp. compared at 1.5 and 2A https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...60&postcount=4 Charles |

like the looks of your pack, here is mine.. started a while back on the UMX Sbach forums.. My Micro Beast V1 sounds like it winds out more than your though..? on the V1 I am unable to go past 75-80% throttle with a 5030 prop as the esc is going into some protection mode, but soon as I throttle back and hit it again is spins right up.. |

Charles they look pretty close on the compare graph... What kind of words do you have after doing the test? I did throw mine on the scales, the Nano is a bit lighter. I will be interested to see how they hold up. From these test, do you have a guesstimate to cycle life? |
