I used 2oz cloth -- if my math is any good is like 50g/m2. Didn't put it on the bias, but should have. It allowed way too much twist. This weekend's full wing will be a double layer of 3/4oz cloth, one on the bias and the other straight on each side. Wish me luck! Tested a new bag last night, held 12lbs of pressure rock solid all night. -= Dave |

Do you use any other reinforcing in places like the LE, TE, wing tips and hinge line? 3/4 oz is pretty light The lightest cloth I can get is 30g/m2 Are you trying live hinges or other... (taped/ silicon-ed) We went out to friends this evening and got nothing done on the wing... Sean's fuz is curing and tomorrow, I'll tackle the wing... If the wind does not blow! |

I was going to use Goop hinges, never made one but it seems simple and strong, and I've got Goop in the drawer. I've never made a live hinge either. -= Dave |

Sooo...
We enlisted some help! As regards a temporary vacuum regulator! That is until Alain decides to come back!! Sean's Dad did the modifications as per Steve's diagrams.... And it works! Sort of.. It regulates between 12-17" Which is way better than I managed! so today we'll do Sean's wing Just got to spray up the Mylars first! |

Nice work!
If you want a tighter deadband, you can get it by having the contact between the micro switch and the bolt closer to the bend on the switch i.e. it moves less distance to turn on/off. You can do that here by rotating the switch so it sits vertically, or by placing a nut on the bolt so the contact is further along. Oh, and you might want to put a cover over the live wires so you don't accidentaly short them out Steve |

Sean's wing is in the bag!
Erm.... May be a bit heavy for his liking.... I did the prep work.. Stood back and surveyed my handy work, and decided.... More is better!!1 So, some additional reinforcing tape went on the LE! I also used a very slow curing epoxy.. It may be a couple of days!! |

Alain's back!
Now.... We have more vacuum regulators than we know what to do with! Steve... I am trying! Sean has a new fuz! (with some paint blemishes) I think the painted mould stood for to many days without following up with the lay-up! But, the good news is... She's light!! I'll have to do him another wing! A light one! |
