With models, at least I get something positive in return. Not just a sore tail pipe!

Finally, I did.. I learned a valuable lesson with Hobby King.. Make sure that everythings in stock before you pull the trigger! Actually, by and large, everything they sell is fairly good quality.

Although, everything thats going in the Pilatus is middle to high end!

Agreed re HC stuff. Pauls knows the stuff I've been getting too.

I "WAS " going to use a Turnagy 15amp UBEC to power my RX et al on my Porter.
I still haven't tested it but I suspect that the specs are a bit optimistic.
After deciding to put big 755's in it through out I am biting the bullet and
going for one of the Smart-Fly power boards.
Like the Eq6Turbo with 17.5 amps cont and 35 amps peak !

Servo/Receiver Power

I am using the latest version of the PowerBox Evolution 40/16 for our Porter. I think it has one of the best setups and has two 20 amp regulator power circuits that run simutaneously at 5.9 volts. The Evo has 6 channels, so I am going to gang the elevators and flaps on two of the channels and run alierons and rudder through three others. The throttle, tow release, and ignition circuit will go on the R149 PCM receiver.

O.k. So I am going to let Randy get his stuff posted first and then I will post a few pictures afterwards.
I will, however, say now that a 7' fuse in an even bigger box does not fit in my Frontier!

Hurry up Randy...
Continuing a build thread here is good with me.

Now let's get down to business!

Beeeeeautiful!

Len's right! This is a nice, well engineered model! The covering is very nice and completely void of wrinkles! All the components seem to be strong, yet they are very light!

Matt? If it's Ok with the rest of the guys, Just use this thread to keep us all posted during this build..

Anyway. Some more pics!

COOL huh,
Glad the plane has arrived. Now you can figure out how to store it.
PS. the black stripe on the right wing top is supposed to be missing I guess. Mine too. Looking forward to your progress

I have the easy part.. Construction of the aerodynamic wing tips. Time to go buy a slab of pink foam! Unless anyone out there has a better idea? I'm certainly open to suggestions!

Len,
"We" are going to make the tail group removable, making transport in the wife's mini-van easier! As for storage. My mom has a basically empty two car garage so thats where It'll be hangared..
