I have the wing center panel mounted, and retract servo mounted and rigged. And I have a video of the retract functioning. But, it's going to take me a minute or two to figure out how to upload it.

Mue-23 gear retracting MVI_4021.AVI (0 min 14 sec)

I still have a thin rubber "bumper" to add to the "up stop bar", so the gear doesn't bang against it.... like it does in the video .

I don't know if I mentioned it,.. but the model will take off conventionally and retract it's gear. It will land with gear retracted on the half exposed wheel. It was my choice to avoid a more complex and heavier retracting and extending landing gear.

I found a new photo. It clearly shows a new view of the cowl. I think I've nailed it perfectly. I certainly wished I had this pic last month. Also noted are the stringers on the fuselage, especially aft of the wing. I have that perfect as well. The wing tip dihedral looks more pronounced than whats shown in one 3-view I have,.. even taking into consideration perspective.

I'm extremely excited! I think I have a very close representation of this motor glider.

I'm starting to get more serious about color choice now. My eyes see two tones of yellow with orange tips and cowl. Nice, but I'm a little burned out on the color yellow. I already have enough of them. I'm considering the incorrect (as far as I can tell) color scheme of less yellow, cream, with orange tips shown in Aviation Buffs web site picture. Or,... I may just come up with my own, better, color scheme.

Fred,

I personally think D-KEBY looks rather tawdry, and in need of a new paint scheme. You have my full support if you should decide to come up with a color scheme of your own. Years ago, when I did my Schleicher Ka8b colors, someone asked me if I had modeled it after a full-scale version. My answer: "no, but it could be, someday". That's been my philosophy ever since.

BTW, looks like your retract works just like you planned it. Good go, man!

Thanks, and yeah, the Sperry Messenger came out absolutely beautiful in non-scale colors.
