Worked the first day for me then went to a 404 death. Guess they didn't pay their ISP bill...

PS: Looked in my disk cache, this was all I could find-- the wiring schematic for the "isolation loop". It's made from a pair of 3mm bullet connectors. Give me a day or two, I'll have pics of mine as it's being built.

I've concluded that a Springer needs to eb watrertight and built rather like a Tesla RC boat (1896 or so). In fact, I think my next "springer" will be modeled after the Tesla Boat. No cast-iron hull, though, I will give it a steam-punk flavour...

Raboesch Props A or D?

Finally getting the time to put a springer together. I've seen a lot of reference to the Raboesch props, but is everyone using the "A type" (standard prop looking) or "D type" (most blade area)? I'm planning on a basic prop/rudder arrangement and 550 motor (I might try couple setups with and without reduction gear)?

Ok Umi:
You win One springer,

I had no intention in building one of these warts on the water, but some of the boats the guys and gals have built are over and above, it shows talent of all kinds, good talent, ok great talent.

So here we go I've been working on it for a wile now, so the first few pics are a week or so old.

What is a YSD? Seaplane Wrecking Derrick, (See pic's below) But they where used also for ship repair and or removel,

The springer hull I am useing I got in Bellevue a couple years ago built by one of the NWSM, it's fiberglass shoe box stile so it should keep the water out.

And it gave me an excuse too build a air plane again.

The other day I mused:
Quote:
2) What about water-tight hatch covers? I'm thinking a gunwale with an inverted bowl cover over it, and gaskets top and bottom. Since a Springer is prone to nose-diving I think it needs to be as water-tight as possible. OTOH, KISS, and a simple gasketed plate might suffice.
Here is a pcture of a submarine guy and his "Big Toot" rescue boat. Note the hatch cover: some sort of tupperware/gladware storage bowl. Might work if a cabin could be fitted around/over it.

Toe's :

I don't think it would last long, but every thing is locked down good, but I do have this thing about detail that might get me in trouble. I just build a cutting torch set to mount on the stearn.

Small brass plate with wire for tubeing, turned the wheels on the lathe.
