Safty Hawk, those shots and the video are really nice. I have to ask, do you live right there? Also I must complement you on your flying - that approach and landing were well done. I find that lots of people dive during a landing approach and then are surprised that they over shoot the intended landing area. Your stuff is really nice and that's surely a pretty spot.

Real nice pics ! I love water pics and yours look very natural, btw is Rappahannock an indian name or totally from other origin ?

Thanks Olivier. With the days getting shorter, "the right time of day" is becoming harder achieve.

Hey Gene. Thanks. I actually live directly across the river from that spot. I have a video on Youtube taking from my yard called NFD. In that video you can see the same bridge, but I'm on the other side of the river...but about that same distance down from it. I' just now starting to venture out from my area to scope out new locations. Oh and thank for the flying complement. I adjust my decent rate purely by throttle adjustments so that I get a nice smooth decent and then give a slight flair at the end as I chop the throttle.

Thanks.....I too love water pics, and just being on the water in general. If I'm not flying then I'm out on the boat! As far as the name Rappahannock goes, its origin is native american, and here is a tidbit from Wikipedia "The name of the river comes from an Algonquian word, lappihanne (also recorded as toppehannock), meaning "river of quick, rising water" or "where the tide ebbs and flows," the name used by the local native population, the Rappahannock tribe."

Thanks! I'm using a Slow Stick with a Canon SD880is. No down link used....I'm not that technologically advanced yet.

Yesterday I flew my SD770is for the first time (Magpie AP.) Maybe 3 of 55 shots were sharp. I thought I had it set for "Kids & Pets." Apparently, my thumb bumped it before flight and it was set to manual. The light was gone by the time I reviewed the photos I didn’t get to try again.

What settings are you using with the SD880is? What shutter speeds are you seeing?

Has anyone seen a Point and shoot <6oz with a true shutter priority setting?

I battled with blurry shots for awhile, but I think I've got it mostly worked out. You really need to have your camera isolated from vibration as best you can. My mount has rubber bushings that go in between the bracket and the legs of the landing gear, and I'm constantly tightening up slop that develops in the mount. I also had to change motors because the first one I was using had some rough bearings. The new one is a slightly bigger motor, which is good if I want to get up to altitude quickly.....but my battery life is not quite as long......still I get 10 minute flights, which isn't too bad.

As far as that goes, I think the Canon S90 is about as close as you'll get.....however, it's closer to 7 ounces....but not a deal breaker IMO.

Woops....I missed this......Anyhow, I'm using mine in Program Mode at ISO80 with -2/3 Exposure, AWB, Vivid, Evaluative, Superfine and Large file size. I have the IS cut off, along with all the other features like AF-assist Beam, and Review. I have the AF Frame set to center.....and that's all I can remember right now. Just checking the properties on the few I posted, the shutter speed on these was in the neighborhood of 1/200th to 1/400th.

Thanks.......I did a little tweaking in Adobe Lightroom, but there is always room for improvement.
