Sorry for the problems with the site. There was a compatibility problem with IE and one of my JS menus. I disabled it and everything seems to be working now. Thanks for your patience. I do have some AccelPower news, but you'll have to wait until tonight to hear it.

George, Do you have any boards in stock. Site does not have a "add to cart" for board.

has the programmer there.

It is safe to drill into but wear a mask or use tools which vacuum the dust out of the air. I would put a round CF or wooden dowel in the CF square tubes. Use gorilla glue or >20 minute epoxy to seal the dowel. Avoid drilling into the CF square tubes at the root. Simply sandwich the CF square tubes between CF plates. Just make sure to drill your holes in the CF plates to the left and right of where the square tubes go between the CF square plates. Then when you tighten the hardware the CF square tubes "friction" fit in place. No holes in the square tubes is ideal but some holes in the ends is ok for fitting motors. Remember, most of the force when flying and crashing is at the roots of the CF square tubes.

So AccelPower update. The software is flying well with it. There is however one defect. Every once in a while a bad position is accepted which causes the quad to bank ~10 degrees then recover. At first I was puzzled as to the cause. But then I figured out what the issue is. My accelerometer is only +-3G. The vibrations were periodically causing the accel to sense > 3g periodically. This means the accel gets saturated and the position estimates not only look normalized but are very very wrong. Anyway, long story short. I'm ordering another accel to replace the current one. I expect this change will fix this issue and the accelpower board will then be very close to release. I know I know. . VIDEO! I'll get some soon, it just ends up being dark before I can get out to test.

I just fixed the website today. Check again. You might need to click on the description before you can see the button. It is at the bottom of the page.

something like $430 for both. The height of both boards together is 2x one board. It's right around 1.25" tall with the base and accelpower board connected.

Hi George,

Excellent news!

Will the Accell board have the baro hold and OSD? Do you have any vids of the OSD in action?

In two hours I will be taking the quad out for round two of test flying. I will have the downlink set up but I won't be flying from it yet. I have no way yet of capturing the footage from the downlink so my Dad will be filming both the Quadf and the downlink. Should be good...

Hi,

Well took it out, Had a flat downlink batt so I didn't get anything from that.

I noticed that the controls were very mushy, and the hold wasn't that great which I attributed to the reasonably low gain setting I'm running. When I tried to increase it the quad starts behaving erratically - which from previous conversations in this thread indicates that the board is receiving vibrations.

At one point due to a spasm the quad hit the ground at an angle, breaking off the landing gear. I will have vids up soon.

I also noted that when I gave yaw input, the quad would respond very slow and once I released the yaw command, it would turn back to its original heading.

Overall, I am fairly confident that all issues noted here are due to my misdeeds in mounting the board and I am very happy with the performance of the board!

Videos soon
