The procedure to open the case and change the battery is on the HL website FAQ,
just do a search on FCO2 and look for the battery section.
And the battery is available from HL as a part. AA1140 $9.90.

Mark,

The case just pops appart at the small nail indent at one corner, just don't do what I did putting it back together and crushing part of the micro ribbon cable.

Cheers... Mark

Richie,

I managed to get hold of one of the cables from Farnell. I cut one end to length and then using a sharp blade carefully trimmed the covering off the conductors on the opposite side to the "made up" connector end. So far it is working well. It does suffer from the occasional FCO2 glitch of miss sync'd video/sound, but it did this sometimes anyway.

Cheers... Mark

Mark, mine arrived on friday and i haven't had time to fit it yet, I will let you know how it goes. typically though FCO2 has released a version in Europe that more or less does what I wanted, (a bare bones video only camera), and of course the connecting cable is differnent.

regards richie

I have exactly the same issue, i also opened it up and checked the battery with a voltmeter and the battery seems to be ok . Please help !

That's because it's in Web Cam mode. What you need to do is go through the menu when it's on and select PC (or just turn it off when you get to PC). Then all should be fine.

Mine never worked right, until I swapped out the lipos. I put a 1s 350mah and it works great!

My FCO2 stopped working on its last flight recently. I think it failed somewhere between the airplane hitting a light pole and ejecting the FCO2 into a wall, or possibly when it hit the ground. Sad - it was a fun toy.

By the way, the plane broke first - I have no idea what happened. It passed all the ground checks, but about 5 feet off the ground it stopped responding to all inputs. Except the STOP command given by the light pole (which is not even scratched).

Mine failed recently, but seemed to be very hardy over all. You will see in the video that the plane (after being distracted nosed straight in like a lawn dart, under full power). Camera survived and even videoed the post flight. Right now, I think it is a battery failure more than a camera failure.

See the video.

broken micro ribbon cables

For those who are having problems with the FCO2 where it seems to power up but doesn't go into the record modes etc. Check the micro ribbon cable. After a while the tracks eventually fracture. Good news is you can get these cables as spare parts if the vendor you are dealing with is willing to order them from ACME. Bad news is it takes a while. I still like my FCO2 because of the pivoting head but I did get one of the Turnigy units from HK and have to say it works everytime without fail (providing you bin the slow microSD supplied and use the FCO rapid rush card instead) and definately handles low light better.

The biggest complaint I have with my FCO2 are the random video cut-outs that occur anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes of in-flight video recording (this is after fully charging the camera from the USB port). It's enough of an issue where I may just replace the camera with one of the models from HC.

That is the latest firmware.
I advise NOT doing a firmware upgrade.

Also to make it a remote shutter you have to use the FlyCamOne2) Receiver Control Cable Control your FlyCamOne2 from your transmitterProduct# AA2013Price: $15.90

You cannot connect it directly to the receiver.
