Go to the Dock Talk forum, then to post #163, 10/23/06 in the Springer tug thread.

There's a photo series illustrating the steps there on making a mold.

Hope this helps you visualize---.

Ralph has gotten the procedure down quite well, I'd say.

Especially the part about the liquor cabinet---.

Excellent info guys.Thanks.--So just to make sure I have this right:Since I already have a wooden hull,I wouldnt need to make anything from foam, correct?I could basically just make my plug with fiberglass based off the wood hull and then do all the waxing, gelcoat, fiberlassing steps to produce my fiberglass hull?

I got one of those standing by in case I get brave enough to attempt this process.

Yes... and no..

Yes, you are correct, you dont need to make a plug as you already have a 'plug'.. the wooden hull..
No, you will need to finish your wooden hull as if it was a plug.. ie: paint (to a mirror finish), wax (like you wouldnt believe), PVA (You missed that part), Gelcoat.. resin and glass..
Then from the mold (again polished and waxed), PVA... gelcoat..resin and glass...
