Hi lonelasso.
I just flew it 4 times and left it.
Do I have to upgrade the frame? No other option?
I have the silver frame HDX V2 and I just finished the setup (servo changes, all wirining, setup etc). It took me 2 days and its perfect right now.
If you think that this is the best, please be so kind to inform me what to buy.
Helidirect and Xmseller if I remember...
Thanks for pushing me to do the right thing.

Hi Dave.
"Hi Takiss !
Quick 'answer'....upgrade the frame to accept 140T main gear"

I replied immediately and didn't see that my frame accept bigger main gear.
So I have to buy 140 T main and 12 T pinion is OK or I have to use other pinion?
2 X 3S parallel is OK?
Thanks once more
Takis

I actually enlarged my frame with dremel and a file Not very 'pretty', but it worked. I don't recall which pinion I'm using Takiss ? Maybe search this thread for pinion ?

I tried a test run and motor ends up hot.
Am I doing something wrong with this configuration?

Hi takiss
Something I do'nt understand :
Scorpion 3026-10 -> kV 980 RPM/V
3S || connection (2x1200 mAh LiPo is not much) -> 11.1 V
12T pinion & 04T gear -> 11.1*980*12/94*0.9 = 1250 RPM headspeed.
The bird cannot fly with this low speed.

I have 2 4S 2200 mAh || connection, the same motor and 21T pinion and 94T stock gear to get 2400 RPM (mesured Eagletree) headspeed.

A+

Hi.
I made my home work and found that I followed Booger and Lonelasso advice and bought this motor.
Booger used to run this one on stock gear, 12 T pinion, 2 X 3S 2200 in SERIES.
I recall that with this configuration I flew this heli (March 2008). I left it and now that I try to fly it again, I realized that the motor runs hot and I wonder if I have to change the power/gear configuration.
I see that this motor runs up to 5S, 6S LiPos is safe?
Is it better to go with 140T main gear and waht pinion?
T summarize, with this motor, what main gear/pinion/LiPo is the best?
One last(!) question.
I didn't manage to get more then 10 deg, even using th lowest hole in main shaft.
Is available any longer man shaft?
Thanks for helping

My memory is shaky, but seems like I'm using a 14-15T pinion with the 130T main gear. I'll have to dust mine off and check I did go with a Scorpion motor, but can't even remember which.

I still have the original Heiney Head. It has a flybar though...and I'm flying flybarless now.

Here's what the Heiney Head morphed into though. It's a beautiful piece of machinery...if I do say so myself.
Actually, this is on my HDX frame right now.
