GWS IPS motors are 12 mm diameter and 40 mm long, Hobby shop should be able to source them, I use 3 in my 1/72 Schnell boat on 1/2 inch props and Ive never got to full speed (too fast)

Try ordering spare tail prop motors for RC helicopters, they are usually small enough.

Yea. Tail motors from the mini helicopters are pretty small. I have some here that are 4mm diameter and I have made a prototype electric torpedo with one.
Finding a tiny prop is the next issue!

You can also pirate the motors from old servos. Some of them are pretty small.

Hi Yehya

They were from Classic Warships or something like that, they were scale replacements for the Revell Schnell Boat in cast white metal, I had to drill out the hub and lock-tite them to my shafts. Tiny silicon fuel tube for couplers.

You can use small square KS tubing for a hub and snip blades from shim brass. Solder the blades to the brass hub on an angle. They are so small that bending the blades into a pitch is not necessary. I have also used square plastic tube and very thin ABS sheet to make small props. The work fine.

You could also resin cast small props from different sub models to use. That way, when you do lose a torpedo or two, it's not as big of a deal.

the GWS IPS motors are available in different winds. There are ducted fan versions for speed, or geared versions replacements. Cost around $10 .
