Setting up the DX6i with 3 position flaps?

Hi,

So how can 3 position flaps be set up using the DX6i, as far as I can tell you can only have either down or up, unless there is a cunning way of using the Gear switch as well as the Flap swich??

Anyone help??

Thanks in advance.

A bit old this thread and maybe you already have the answer but here goes.

Use Mix1 to mix Gear into Flap. Choose how many % you want the flaps to go out on the gear switch. You will now have X% on gear switch and 100% on flaps switch. However don't use both switches at once as you will get 100% + the % you set for the gear switch.

That is an awfully clumsy way to do it—and a potentially problematic one if inadvertently extended to that 100% + gear switch percent.

There has got to be a better hacker's way to do this. Of course it would voids any warranty or product guarantee. Reprogramming? Installing a digital wander switch? (If you can find—or build—one, such a switch would mimic proportional pulsations as to maintain a halfway point. The only negative is that it would really suck up battery current...and possibly ruin a servo.)

There's got to be a way. Or else Spektrum will not be my first 2.4Ghz radio. I really like Spektrum's Rx availability for all types of models, but this simple switch make them really look ignorant.

The DX7 comes with a 3 position flap switch but the DX6i only has a 2 positions flap switch. If you need to mimic a 3 position flap system then simply setup the flap as you want them in the lowest position then add a mix to add more when toggle.

My setup is as follows.
Norm Flap = Flap 0% Elev 0%
Land Flap = Flap 50% Eleve 10% Elevator % depends on you're model or if you want it.

Then I have a mix that when on will and travel to my flaps.

MIX 1 and or 2

Flap to Flap ACT
Rate D +50% U 0%
SW ELE D/R Trim INH.

What this does is my flaps work as a simply 2 position flap but when I toggle the Elevator dual rate switch right next to the flap switch I get a little more out of them.

All this is also setup as flaperons, alierons acting like flaps.

Just make sure what ever % you program in that you dont over travel the servo.
