I don't suppose I could beg for 3ds of a Super Skybolt? It is perhaps the nicest looking bipe ever imo.
Thanks in advance! |

Travelair 6000??
This must be one of the top 10 most important threads on RCG
Thanks, Psycho!I fell in love today with a plane which took my breath away. The Travelair 6000. Won't be satisfied till I build a model of her. Would prefer to have a 3-view. Anyone??? Barrett

Travelair 6000
Barrett, there was one at a small local air show giving rides last Saturday. As you, it cried build me... though I've too many projects waiting, and I'm not a scale builder.
I'd want to do it 120 size, perhaps 1/5 scale. The plane lends itself perfectly to two piece wings, the glazing is all flat, and the fuselage is boxy and no cowl is needed. All of these things spell a fairly easy plane to scratch build. Because of all the windows, the cabin and forward section could be built of 3/16 luan ply so that the windows could be easily cut out. Aft of the cabin stick built for lightness. It might could be built in two sections for easier handling and then joined prior to covering. The harder effort might be the integration of landing gear struts and wing struts but who knows until its looked at. I took a few pics but was restricted from the flight line and didn't want to hang around. edit note: I linked into this thread and didn't note it was a foamy build forum... sorry, please excuse arlyn |

Guys, here is a somewhat odd request. Would it be possible to get several different 3-views put together into a single jpeg file? I would need this to include 1 helicopter, 1 sailplane, 1 piston engined plane, and 1 jet. Any aircraft, just in this combination. You would also need to allow it to be used (possibly) as a background image for some rc-related software. Let me know if this is doable, I am a bit graphics-challenged myself. I can draw a stickman but he will look like he is standing on the side of a hill
![]() Edit: I just realized, the images would have to stay about the size of the thumbnails so maybe this is not doable. Last edited by FrankC; Nov 17, 2009 at 11:35 PM. Reason: further info |
