Yes, to my eye there certainly appears to be some. This is normally built in to counteract the effects of motor torque. My construction notes say that mine (TL) has 1 deg. right thrust built in, but yours looks more. Like I said, try using a thin washer to move the thrust line over towards the centre, but don't go too far, ie. certainly no further than along the centre line. Don't forget to reset the ailerons before your next flight if you try this mod!

I would look at how straight the wings are, or how square it is with the tail. If there is some warping in the wings I doubt any side thrust or lateral balance will correct. I seem to remember my eDago had warped ailerons. At the end of the day you may have to fly it with a bit of trim.

Put the washers on the motor - a drop of cyano or even blue tack will hold them in place while you put it in the fuselage. The washers will be easy to chip off after (even with cyano) if you find you don't need them.

i know for a fact that it is not bang on with the tail as i noted earlier in the thread i was disapointed with the wing tips when bolted on not having the same equal measurement to the tip of the fin so i had to strike happy medium when fixing the tailplane. regarding wing twist or warping i was not expecting this as this model to me is not cheap. will alter the side thrust a little and see what happens next.

flight no 2, altered the thrust line to very near zero and set up the spoirlers so i thought. self launched again and no problem but did not solve the left trim problem but flies okay so i think i will have to live with it. tried full throttle this time and just a little faster than my gonzales. next tried the spoirlers and she just did a complete loop, plenty of up with a little of up elev dialed in, what am i doing wrong. so its back to landing with out spoirlers again but this time just the slightest of breezes so executed a good landing but the prop broke once again and this time cart wheeled the turnleft but with no damage as for as i can see. seems like its going to cost me the cost of a prop each time i fly and now wondering if i would have been better of with the bandit. never mind will persevere with the turnleft and hopefully give me some practice while i save some hard earned cash so i can try my hand at hotlining.

Take out the elevator mix - you may have too much on, spoliers should be set max up. Mine go up about 3/4 inch, when deployed the plane will pitch up and it will loose speed and hight. Set the breake on the esc so the prop don't spin. I have not been too impressed with my T.L., I am thinking of getting a viper or an Excite, but the price is high.

TL is okay but i expected a lot better than i have already got with my gonzales i built from afree plan also a lot cheaper as well. may be when i get a bit more flight time i might change my mind.

Prop breakage is a hazard of flying these models. Even the sweetest of landings in smooth grass can break a prop. The critical thing is the landing speed. Spoilers help. I don't mix any elevator in, and just fly the "trim" on the stick for landing. Don't deploy the spoilers until the speed has dropped off and don't fly too slow else you'll stall a wing tip - you'll need to learn how slow it'll go.

For the prop you can always try a folder.

Of course the price difference between a fully molded and a TL is big which justifies the TL price I guess. I would suspect the quality of the Bandit to be similar - it's just what you get with foam veneered wings. I guess if you had got the Bandit instead, you'd had been thinking you should gone for the TL. You did give us the impression originally that you wanted to fly with the motor on and not the climb and glide style of a hotliner.

I have my spoilers set as per instructions, 15mm, and I prefer to manually trim the elevator as the amount needed changes with various wind speeds.
I don't have the brake set on my ESC as the pull of the magnets on the Mega 16/15/3 is so strong that it stops the prop itself. I am only on my second prop so far, but I do blip the throttle during the (power off) landing phase if I see that the prop is at the 6-o-clock position.

Kris1 and Glenbees, I'm sorry to hear that you're both not keen on your TLs, I like mine very much, but then I have flown it lots and it's rather like a comfortable pair of slippers now!

I would not use a folder at 20 000 plus RPM.

The moduled v's others debate has been done to death, but I think that the plane should at least come straight and not worped.

As far as the Bandit is concerned I think that the quality of the kit is better than the TL. However I have other simprop kits and they have always been good quality, this one has disaponted. You can't compair the bandit to the TL, as they are diffrent types of planes. How can apples and oranges be compaired..

darron, am going to try both and then i can keep trying two different types of flying. as we said earlier in the thread its only money and you you cant take it with you. but on a whole i was getting a bit bored with everyday flying hence my interest in this type of flying either pylon or hotlining. thanks everybody for the advice.

flew the turnleft this afternoon , flew great getting used to it cant get used to the spoirlers activated and still ballooned up with no elev mixed in so once again landed again without no problem but once again the prop struck the strip cartwheeled the model over wing came of and once again broke the prop.flew the cheapo gonzales with nearly the same performance and landed with no prop breakage . thinking of selling the turnleft as it has been a source of problems from day 1 , pity i nearly went for the bandit as i would have had no problems with folding props.

only way i can see me getting some serious flight time is using a folding prop some how or even change the motor as i can see me doing some damage before long with the prop striking every time. any suggestions please.
