I'm still disappointed about the undesirable performance on some systems... Something going on in the coding during online play, gives bad framerate issues even at a stable FPS (Jumping camera/heli)... Seems fine single player. Lags (local not network) even with just one other person online... Lowest GFX settings.

Latest DirectX, graphics drivers and a system in tip-top shape. Had the same issue in Windows 7 and Vista, I hear it's the same in XP too.

My main PC is just fine, but that's not really the point...

Oh, and it also seems to crash while joining online sessions, unless you set the capability mode to Windows Vista or XP.

Still a great sim don't get me wrong . Love the feel of the helis currently.

how should that work? the backgrounds are pictures.

If you want to make it more difficult, you can paint your model all black.
And maybe turn the Gamma down a bit .

E-Flite 4 site added, can anyone who's flown the real version comment on the likeness of the sim version?

I think they should have put that one in the scale section as there are too many electric scales

Hey all, new Phoenix user here in the States. I figured I would jump in and buy it before Horizon got their fingers in the pot. So far I really like the sim with the only negative being the lack of 3D fields. Other than that it seems to be a pretty good program.

Are there any tips or things I should know about setting up for online flying? Do I need to modify my router or firewall settings? I tried the other night and was able to get onto a server running in the UK but, I want to make sure I'm setup correctly as to not cause problems for anyone else.

Thanks!

MfG,

yes, you should open a bunch of ports in the firewall and enable network address translation NAT in the router.
Check the Phoenix support page, there is all you need.

About setting up, I'd recommend a vanilla program on the Tx in heli mode / 1 servo per channel. Calibrate, set idle up throttle to 100 %, enable throttle hold and that's it.

Don't worry about me turning into a Horizon fanboy but at least I'm a happy customer. Got my DX7SE back from Horizon UK today, for service / repair / testing. Really quick and I got a very fair deal

Burn baby burn

I noticed some memory leak in multiplayer, about 100 k per second. Not sure if it's a new problem, but it got a bit sluggish after a while. Might have been a random issue, though. It also crashed while trying to log into one particular session.

I wish for the full range of MPX-models in this SIM.
