Hello Manfred
Just one question for me is the lack of a lathe, so that besides achieving functional Snorkel tube and I need to realize Torpedo! (The front and back!) And to undermine support flange. Your friend build this system for the launch is lucky! He gave up the screw, sealing the central tube (with electronic components?) I ask for launching screw (M3) screw does not touch the sealing? I look forward very much and please show us and the evacuation system with servo drive to torpedo! Thanks, Cristian |

Hello Cristian,
My friend who has the Robbe type VII already made everything ready by making room for the torpedo's at the front, as far as i know he uses a bajonet lock to get his sub closed. I'am building the launchsystem by measurements he send me by mail, so i hope it will fit inside his sub, that's why i made a frame that you can ajust on the size of your torpedoroom. When the launchsystem and all torpedo's are ready i'll make a vid how it's working. Greetings Manfred. |

It's taking more time and effort, but i'am still progressing in the build.
I made a vid about the launchsystem and tried to explane how it works, still have to do some work before the testing can begin. Enjoy.
Greeting Manfred. |

Some really nice work there...... I REALLY miss my workshop! (moved house.... now only got a dining room table!)
I was worried that I could only get my torpedo tubes in my 1/72 Gato mounted slightly outward pointing (not straight with the line of the hull). There just was no way of getting them in and having closing doors. Looking at your design, your torpedo tubes look set at slight outward angles as well. Not to mention, as soon as the torpedo leaves the tube.... lets face it, its not going to travel perfectly straight anyway! My problem is scale. 1/72 is pretty small!

I know what you mean with missing your workshop, had a few years ago a buildover of my house, a total stop on every build.
About the angle of the tubes you are right, there is no room enough to get them straight inside the boat, so i came with a ajustable frame. The goal to get the torpedo's fired into a straight line is a difficult one, so you have to compromise on that, for me the sight of launching is enough. Scale 1;72 is pretty small, but the pricipal stays the same, i've seen some working examples on the web, gasdriven as wel electric ones, those guys have my interest on how they build that. Greetings Manfred. |

Next update, first try inside the bath of the launchsystem, it revealed that the torps had to be fully loaded to come out of the tubes.
Here is the vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_azx0KLcIxs Greetings Manfred |
