building RC from models

There was a Nascar store in Everett, Wa about 12 years ago. The owner had a racing league, the cars were modified model cars(basic revel nascar models?). Ive searched andsearched and can't find any article or how to. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks Bill

BTW Great site with lots of great info.

revell as in 1/24 scale?

Revell actually made some rc cars called 'rpmz'

I have a couple, but never took them out of the box. The literature notes that the chassis can adjust to fit nearly any 1/24 model body.

There were several companies about 20 years ago that made micro RC cars in 1/24 scale. That was supposed to be the next big thing, but it never took off. Almost any body could be adapted to the chassis they were offering. I think most were available with the Testarossa. I specifically remember some kind of shootout in RCCA about 1989 or 1990 between a few of the Testarossas offered.

You could get a Mini-Z to fit a 1/24 scale body (Mini-Z's are 1/27-28), I bought a '67 Corvette body just for that purpous (sp?)...
Might need some tinkering with wheel ofset and such but it shouldn't be to hard...
