OK all,
I got my F-16. Unfortunately, I got it ordering each part individually. I have no manual or guide. Anyone know where to get a guide. Or, if you can explain the main steps. Seems like a simple deal. Just don't want to glue something only to realize I skipped something. Also, do i need to make a thrust tube out of paper? Also, my dang cockpit and elevators are on backorder. Hobby-Lobby....when do you expect to get these parts? Jerry Last edited by Ebolavoodoo; Apr 21, 2009 at 03:35 AM. |

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what ESC I could use to replace the factory ESC and BEC?

Jerry,
Mine was receiver ready from Hobby Lobby but the HS 55's should work fine. The 4 cell 2200 mah 20C battery (about a year old) that came with the plane worked good with many flights and charges but has started losing power quickly recently. The other problem with many of the li-po makers are the stiff wires used for the balance plug. 3 of the wires on the included battery broke at the battery and are hard to re-solder back on. Same thing happened with my G-Force battery. Just received a "Zippy" 4 cell, 2200 mah 20C from Hobby King and it seems to have much more power and they used the right kind of wire for the balance plug. Came with the Deans connector and for $38, seems like a real deal. We'll see how long it lasts. Also it was one ounce lighter than the G-Force of the same capacity. (watch it doesn't mess up your balance!!!) Also the G-Force didn't have the same power as the included battery and is all puffy with 6 months of use. Have talked to other who have gotten the "Zippy" packs (advertized in all of the RC magazines) and all are quite pleased with the performance and service they get from them. |

ARF Guy,
Thanks for the needed info. However, I have since moved on with another plane til I get my elevators. They have been on backorder for over 3 months. Falcon just sits there. jerry |

Parts is parts!
I think you should be able to "improvise" and use standard hardware. The horns and clevises that are standard are kinda puny anyway.
Still flying mine and my Viet Nam F4 Phantom pilot bud who has the F4 (totally crashed and repaired with foam from a crafts store) bough the F16 and likes it better. His motor is stronger than mine or after several hundred flights, brushless motors in EDF's get tired, don't know which. Have worn the tires down to less than half the rubber and we fly off dirt! Anyway, I plan on flying mine as long as possible. |
