Great trailer Len!

do you know roughly what the weight was as purchased, i.e. before your clever fitout?

I ask because I'm considering something vaguely similar and I'm trying to figure out a reasonable tow vehicle.

Whatever you tow it with make sure you spend the 150$ for a good brake controller, one you can proportionally activate without stepping on the brake pedal. with that in mind these lightweight trailers can be hauled with a 1/4 ton pickup easily.

The brake controller is always recommended, as long as teh trailer has brakes. This one does, the last one did not. You will always be able to tell from the connector. The round 6 pin will have a brake port.

The weight of the trailer is pretty much not an issue. I assume you are not using a Geo Metro, so therefore, anything would pull a little trailer with model airplanes in it. I dont know the empty wieght, I will take a look when I get back though.

There is a lull in the building right now, I'm in MD,WV,PA ?????? at the Cumberland Soar 4 fun.

Lets get that thing ready for JR!!
If you make room for my saillanes I could then fly out to JR and won't have to endure that 16hr drive!!!!!!!!

Charlie, that 16 hr drive is an essential component of the JR experience. After all that time in the car trying to keep yourself awake, you're so happy to be in Monticello that you're totally oblivious to the heat, rain, humidity and all the frogs that have magically appear in the newly formed lake by the hanger!

I agree Steve. I would love to take the planes out for you Charlie, unfortunately, JR won't let me because you have not made the drive at least once yet.

Ok then, You can fly your plane into Newcastle pick Me up and we will fly out to JR in class.

Will load all the planes into the new trailer and have Steve do a tandem tow out to JR!!!!

Glad you made it home safe, Now get back to that Trailer build and post some pics!!

Update on the Trailer project, After returning from the Cumberland Soaring Event yesterday, Its time to get back to the projects at hand. The inside of the trailer is going to be painted on Thursday this week, My assistants husband is a painter and he is looking for some work, so its better than me painting it. I know if I don't paint it now, I'll wish I did later. I'm going to use a light Grey on the walls and Black on the floor with a non slip texture on the ramp,
There is one overhead light in the middle of the trailer so I am planning to add another one in the forward section.
Thats about all for now.

Len, why such a somber black floor that will show all the dirt and start peeling, etc?

You might want to check out your local flooring store and look for some remnant floor covering material...the vinyl like stuff that comes on 12' wide rolls and looks like tiles or wood planking. Some needs to be glued down while others only has to be tack nailed around the perimeter. That's what I used in my trailer and it has held up very well. Does need the 3M non-slip PS strips on the ramp to help when the ground is wet.

And what about those lava lights on the ceiling?!
