Brain FART !!

IDK if it's I got too much going thru my head, or lack of sleep or both
Anyway I got a dell laptop battery I tore apart since the laptop took a crapper, the pack originally was 14.8v and 65wh= 6500mah?
so I spilt it from it's orginal form of 12cells,2s6p? and came out 2 packs at 2s3p, right?so whats the mah of each pack 6450? the cells are not labeled.

65wh/14.8v=4.38ah /2=2.2ah =2200mah

Probably somewhat less depending on how old pack was.

Wrong, 6S2P -> 2x 3S2P. However, if 14.8V I'm pretty sure you have 4S2P (8 cells) or 4S3P (12 cells)
(try get some sleep ).

Looks like the 8 cell pack (4s2p)
http://www.laptoppartsshop.com/dell-...wh-p26523.html

So you probably have 2, 4s1p packs now.

Ummm, doesn't 4 X 3 = 12? or is this the new math?

Maybe he has 2 packs of 2s2p, or 2 packs of 4s1p?

LOL, isn't this thread about brain farts?
I use to work on Wall Street? Buy for 8, sell for 12?

You're 99.99% right, 2s2p or 4s1p.....
Probably 4s1p. They do use that config http://www.zimbio.com/Replacement+La...+battery+14+8V

Joat,
Is each pack still 14.8V?

Or 2 pack 4S2P 18325 cells .
Cells are usually paired in these packs, so I bet it's 2x 2S2P.

I spilt the 12 cell pack into 2,6 cell packs, both are 2s, with 3 cells in para, so basically I have 6,2 cell packs, last night I still did not get much sleep

Made into a 14.8V pack = 4s1p 2200mah
Parallel 3 of them = 4s3p 6600mah

The 12 cell packs seem to be 96WH while the 8 cell are 65WH. That's confusing.

Ok got the specs after scrounging around the trash , 14.8v 6450 mah 96 wh, so if I spilt this into 2, 2s packs with 6 cells total in a pack what do I ended up with mah wise?

You end up with what's written on the label; 6450 mAh.
