Here is a peek at my Draken, so far. I still need to attach the control links, and install the battery. I think I will have mine drop in from the top and set on the bottom rail. I plan on pulling more positive G's than Negative. Easier to access on the bench as well. It seems like most of the time I see the bottom of my plane anyway, so no visible hatch. Probably more like 17 oz to 17.5 oz RTF. Should maiden Saturday. I will have one of the club members video if possible. But definantly pictures.

Very nice Roger! I like the step you added to the inner portion of the intakes.

The step just takes 4 little pieces of foam, but it makes it look more correct, and should reduce drag a little. Saturday looks like the big day. Watching you other guys videos and pictures I know it will fly good. Can't wait. It was my first plastic model as a kid of 12, now at 48 I have one to fly.

Very pretty!

I had the same idea as far as the hatch position. As for CG, I've only flown mine from 1" to 1/2" in front of the wing break. Both positions are very stable, the rearward one just needs less up trim. If you choose the more forward CG you could add a bit of up-trim before the maiden (about 1/4" at the widest part of the elevon).

Enjoy the maiden.

Nice pics Pat. How was the speed with the lighter battery, or did the lower power output slow it down?

Thanks for the advice, I will follow it, and I'll keep everyone posted on the maiden.

Marcel,

Speed was about the same, but I did not get a radar on it.

Well I won't be able to maiden tomorrow, I couldn't make it to the Hobby Store, for Rare Earth Magnets and Park Zone Pushrods. So it isn't quite ready. Maybe next week sometime.

Well I finally maidened mine. It has good performance but the use of the HS-55 servoes is a let down. They do not center correctly, so it chases a little in roll. Also at full throttle and high speed, the controls became sluggish. I believe some HS-65's would be nice. It really does look good in the air, all the club members commented on it. So a little adjusting and I'll try it again.

Sorry no pictures, maybe next time.

Glad you got it in the air Roger, sorry about the servos!

Here are some pictures kindly sent to me by fltlevel450 of his squadron of Drakens, including some very cool tiny ones. Apparently the small ones also fly well.
